Doris M. Merriman, age 77, of Deckerville, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Dubuque, Iowa.

She was born February 13, 1935 in Custer Township, the daughter of the late William C. and Gertrude (Beier) Warner.

She married Walter (Bud) Merriman on February 13, 1955 in Sandusky. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1985.

Doris was a former bookkeeper at Eastern Michigan Bank. She enjoyed gardening, and singing in the choir at Peace Lutheran Church where she was a member for many years. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.

She is survived by three sons, Mark (Natalie) Merriman of Arlington, Va., Clark (Susan) Merriman of Ortonville, Craig (Victoria) Merriman of Richmond; two daughters, Marian (Norman) Maasshoff of Warren, and Christina (Brian) Stringer of Dubuque, Iowa; nine grandchildren; one brother, Frederick (Carol) Warner of Gaylord and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William Warner; three sisters, Margaret Muir, Ruth Merriman, and Betty Walton.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Doris M. Merriman will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Peace Lutheran Church, Sandusky, with Pastor Richard Tino officiating. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00-9:00 PM, Wednesday in the Apsey Funeral Home, and from 10:00 AM, until the time of service at Peace Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or the Deckerville Community Center.
